Right before the beginning of the term (usually on the Friday before the first day of class), Moodle courses are made visible to students.
Still, to make sure that the course is visible - or if you need to make it visible beforehand to send messages to students - you can access the Settings menu from the Course navigation bar:
In the General section use the Course visibility drop-down menu to select Show.
Scroll to the bottom and click Save and display.
