Psychology: Getting Started

An introductory guide for psychology classes.

Reference Collection

Our physical Reference Collection, located in the Aurelian Wing, contains works that can be easily consulted and referred for any particular information, without reading the work as a whole. Some examples of reference books are Encyclopedias, Dictionaries and Handbooks.

Our library has also plenty of digital versions of reference works, fully available via our website and while using JCU credentials.

Here there is a list of some of our main psychology reference resources ready to be consulted:

Credo Reference includes a series of subject specific books related to psychology and psychopathology. Among these sources you can find encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, and guides.

Writing and Research Help

The Library can assist you in finding information on how to write research papers. You can refer to our guide for finding APA style guidelines and examples, or you can refer to the official manual.

If you want to learn how to do research in psychology, you can take advantage of one of the books about research methodologies available in the library collection.
