The Assignment tool is indicated with the following icon and it allows you to complete an assignment and later view feedback, and sometimes a grade, from your instructor.
Depending on how your assignment is set up, you may be able to type directly into a text field, upload files in any type of digital format, or do both. Usually, professors ask students to upload a document. Think of this as an alternative way to the email to send your paper to the professor.
To complete an assignment you will have to follow these steps:
Drag your files into the assignment drop box area and click on Save changes. The submission status will change into Submitted for grading.
The Assignment tool can be integrated with the plagiarism detection software Turnitin.
After submitting the assignment, you will be assigned a Turnitin ID that your professor will use to check the paper for plagiarism.
Your professor can also decide to use the Turnitin Assignment
To complete the assignment:
You will then receive a digital receipt of your submission to certify the successful upload.
