The Queer Alliance is a JCU student club founded by members of the student body who identify as either LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) or straight. Its goal is to foster a supportive academic, professional, and personal, environment for both degree-seeking and study-abroad students while attending JCU and living in Rome.

"The Libellula Italia Association APS has been active in the field of volunteering since 1997, working directly with issues related to the gender identities of Trans, Non-Binary, and Gender Non-Conforming individuals. The organization focuses especially on matters concerning immigration, social inclusion, and access to employment, housing, and essential services. It is committed to the protection and advocacy of LGBTQIAPK+ individuals and to promoting the broadest and most comprehensive understanding possible in order to spread useful information and educate public opinion on these topics, both in the city of Rome and at the national level."

The Gay Center is among the main Italian centers for the LGBT community. Its primary function is to provide an accessible space for the LGBT organizations. The Gay Center also has a free Gay Helpline to listen and support anyone member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The MIT (Movimento Identità Trans) is one of the oldest and most important associations of the Italian LGBTQ+ movement.
