Information about the deposited content, such as title, author, abstract, and keywords (metadata) will always be available to the public. However, the institutional repository allows different access levels for the deposited work (the file):
Public – the deposited work is available to everyone in Open Access.
Embargo – the deposited work will become available after a set period of time chosen by the author of the work. The embargo is usually 3 years, and it can be further extended for 3 more years.
JCU only - the deposited content can be accessed only within JCU network (on-campus access).
For published materials, access restrictions might depend on the publisher’s policies (???).
For unpublished material, the copyright owner may request an initial 3-year embargo. If the copyright owner would like to make changes to the embargo, they may submit a request for either removing the embargo or adding an additional three-years delay before publication in the repository.
