Reference Help is coming back and ready to roll... remotely!

As you may already know, the Frohring Library will not be open to the students for the next few weeks, until April 3. But we are ready to offer reference services to help you with your research and to provide support with library resources in remote mode.

Starting from Monday, March 16, the Reference Librarians will meet remotely with students who need research help. They will be using Microsoft Teams, available to the whole JCU learning community.

If you need help, you can schedule an appointment using the online appointment scheduler.  The Librarians will create a Microsoft Teams meeting to allow remote in-person interactions with you.

For quick help you can also initiate a chat with one of the librarians by searching for their names. If you need assistance with:

  • Art History, Classical Studies, English and Italian Studies  - contact Eleonora Moccia
  • Business and Marketing, Social Sciences, Political Science and International affairs - contact Livia Piotto
  • Communications, History and Humanities, Math, Computer Science and Natural Science - contact Manlio Perugini

If you don't know whom to contact, or have difficulties using Microsoft Teams, just drop us a line at referenceservices@johncabot.edu and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Details about remote reference services are available on the Reference Help page on the website. Do not hesitate to get in touch with us for questions and concerns.

We will also keep you updated on future remote activities such as virtual citation workshops.

We are looking forward to collaborating remotely with you all!

welcome

Dear Students,

Most of us here at John Cabot are now working off-campus and many of you are outside of Italy, but the difficulties we are all experiencing bring us closer together than ever.

Along with the rest of the campus, the Library is closed to students until April 3.

Reference Services are available remotely and are fully functioning. If you need reference assistance, please contact the Reference team at referenceservices@johncabot.edu. Reference services are currently available Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm.

Circulation Services are not available at the moment. All loans will be automatically extended until April 3. Fines incurred during the quarantine period will be waived. If you need any assistance, please contact us at circulation@johncabot.edu. Requests sent to circulation will be addressed between the hours of Monday through Friday, 9am - 1pm.

Interlibrary Loan services to students are temporarily suspended for print materials. However, we will do our best to provide digital documents through document delivery. You can post your requests as usual through JCU Discovery (the Library's online catalog). For further details, please contact ILL@johncabot.edu.

Please don't hesitate to contact us for any needs that you have.

Best wishes to you all!
