Peer Review Week is an annual, community-led, global virtual event celebrating the essential role that peer review plays in maintaining research quality. The event brings together individuals, institutions, and organizations committed to sharing the central message that quality peer review in whatever shape or form it may take is critical to scholarly communication. The theme for the September 19-23, 2022 event is “Research Integrity: Creating and supporting trust in research.”

To help unpack the numerous layers of this year’s theme, The Peer Review week steering committee is launching a series of blog posts about the role of peer review in fostering research integrity before submission, during peer review, and post-publication. Conversations around the theme may be followed on the Peer Review Week Twitter account @PeerRevWeek with this year’s hashtags #PeerReviewWeek22 and #IntegrityAndPeerReview.
