You can validate your primary sources by using Shepard’s® Citations Service. Only case law is covered in LexisNexis.
Within the database, you can do validate your cases either by searching for a specific citation or by using the full text view of a case (more on this).
In a Shepard's Report, the first thing to note is the Shepard’s signal™ displayed at the top of the page. This signal is the key to determining how other courts have treated the case that you’ve Shepardized as well as determining it’s subsequent history.
