Freshman Advising and Course Registration

Freshman Advising

New students have their first Advising Appointment at the end of the orientation week. These appointments may take place on the Friday or Saturday of orientation. Attendance is mandatory. Advising appointments are administratively scheduled and cannot be changed. The Registrar's Office will assign the appointment and communicate it to you via email.

The Academic Advisor that you meet during your first appointment is not your permanent Academic Advisor, one will be assigned to you later in the semester.

First Course Registration

At the end of your advising appointment, your Advisor will hand you a copy of your course registration form. You must hand in that form to one of the Registrar's Office staff members present during the registration session to effectively enroll in classes.

First Time Accessing your Schedule on the Online Registration System

Once we enroll you in the courses you picked with the Academic Advisor, you will be able to access your schedule online through the Online Registration System

Your credentials will be sent to you by the Registrar's Office. The first time you access the ORS you will need to set-up security questions for future password recovery.

First Schedule Changes

During your first semester you will be able to make changes to your schedule only by using the paper drop/add forms (available on the display outside the Registrar's Office).

The drop/add form must be submitted to the Registrar's Office and should be filled out with the following information before submission:

  • Your name and lastname
  • The current semester
  • Course code(s), section(s) and title(s) of the course(s) you wish to add [if any]
  • Course code(s), section(s) and title(s) of the course(s) you wish to drop [if any]
